Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 30, 2026
We keep things simple here. At ToolzFree, we believe your personal data belongs to you, not us. Since we built this platform using local browser computing, we don't have databases storing your files or text strings. This Privacy Policy details how we handle the very few things we do collect, how local storage works, and why your data is safe with us.
No Servers. No Database. Just Your Browser.
Unlike other online tools where your inputs, uploaded images, and custom configurations are sent to a third-party server, ToolzFree runs entirely inside your browser. Your files and parameters never leave your machine.
1. What Data Do We Actually Touch?
Because everything runs locally, you can use our 100+ tools without registering, logging in, or giving us your name. The only times we ever receive any data from you are:
- When you send us a message: If you write to us through our contact form, we'll get your name, email address, subject, and message. We only use these details to write back to you and help resolve your issues. We don't share or sell your contact info.
- When you join our newsletter: If you choose to subscribe to our updates, we keep your email address in a secure newsletter database. We only use it to let you know about new tools or major platform updates. You can unsubscribe at any point with a single click.
2. What We Save in Your Browser (Local Storage)
To make sure the site remembers your layout preferences without forcing you to create an account, we use your browser's localStorage. Here is what we save locally on your device:
| Storage Key | What it is | Does it leave your device? |
|---|---|---|
toolz_theme |
Tells us whether you prefer the Light Theme or Dark Theme. | Never (stays locally in your browser cache). |
toolz_favorites |
Stores a list of the tools you bookmarked so they appear on your dashboard. | Never (stays locally in your browser cache). |
toolz_usage |
Counts how many times you clicked each tool to build your "Most Used" panel. | Never (stays locally in your browser cache). |
3. Standard Web Server Logs
Like any other website, our web hosting servers automatically record basic access logs. These contain anonymous details like IP addresses, browser types, operating systems, referring pages, and access timestamps. None of this is linked to your identity. We use these logs only to monitor server performance, protect against security threats (like spam or DDoS attacks), and keep the website running reliably.
4. Advertising and Cookies
To help cover hosting costs and keep the platform free, we serve display ads. We and our advertising partners use standard cookies to show relevant ads and measure traffic:
- Google Ads: Google uses cookies (like the DART cookie) to serve contextual ads based on the pages you visit on our site and elsewhere on the web. You can manage or opt out of personalized ads by visiting Google's Ad Settings.
- Site Analytics: We use basic analytics (like Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity) to see how visitors use our site, what tools are popular, and where we might have bugs. This data is aggregated and anonymous.
5. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
We respect your global privacy rights. If you want us to delete your newsletter subscription or delete any support emails you sent us, just let us know.
Please keep in mind that since we don't save your files, processed images, or code minifier strings on our servers, there is nothing for us to access or delete. Everything resides on your own computer, and you can clear it anytime by clearing your browser cache.
6. Children's Privacy
We do not collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has submitted any details on our site (for example, via a support email), please contact us, and we will delete that information immediately.
7. Questions?
If you have any questions about this policy or want to discuss your data, feel free to send an email directly to support@toolzfree.com.
